There has been a lot of discussion about Political Correctness and saying Merry Christmas – So I am going to tell you my take on it. For me, Christmas is a spiritual and magical time of the year. When I wish you Merry Christmas, I am wishing you all the goodness and joy that the season brings. Likewise if you wish me a Happy Hanukkah or Seasons Greetings, or any other greeting, I take that in the spirit in which I believe it was intended – wishing Me goodness and joy. Sometimes my response is Merry Christmas; not to correct you, but to wish you the same in “my language”. Other times, I will say, “The same to you.”
Let’s not let the act of wishing someone joy to become a bone of contention. Oh, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
